‘Be the fastest growing department in the entire Jamaican business unit’ – is the mission statement of the Export Commercial Team that is responsible for driving sales of Campari Group’s brands in the Caribbean region.
Michelle Brown, Commercial Director – Export declares, ‘Every member of this team truly lives and breathes this mission statement and each person’s targets are geared towards realizing the goal.’
From the outside looking in, the export team seems to have glamourous jobs with each team member spending at least half their work time during any given year in a different country. “What people don’t realize is the enormous amount of time that you spend away from home and from family to maintain relationships with each and every business partner right across the Caribbean,” said Brown. “It is no easy task, but my team and I are passionate about achieving our goals and about ensuring the Caribbean region remains the engine of growth for the company.”
The small team tasked with attaining this goal consists of Regional Commercial Sales Managers – Sashae Leon-Allen and Monique Brackett, who is Trinidad based, Roque del Rio, Country Manager

Buoyed by the positive results of 2016, the Commercial Export Team were well on their way to superseding even their own targets in 2017, but Mother Nature had other plans. “Hurricane Maria and Hurricane Irma severely impacted commercial deliverables in a number of our key markets, and resulted in us having to reset our business objectives mid-stream,” said Brown. “Nevertheless, we remained undaunted and were even more driven by our mission to grow. The only thing that changed was for us to really go beyond anything we had done before.”
