Revelacion Classic
TETRIS B
By Luis Prieto Zamudio, translation by Speedhorse
The 13th version of this classic was held Oct. 4, with the participation of 10 three- year-old and older horses who had never won a stakes and whose registration for participa- tion was $33,000 pesos. They traveled 350 yards over a fast track and the prize for distribution among the top four was $374,503 pesos (approximately $17,073).
The group drew attention to the fact
that six of the participants were new to the Hipodromo de las Americas facility; two of them for the first time racing in official races – Cartels Famous Eagle and Magnifiko; while the other four came from tracks in the United States and their owners signed them up to try their luck in this stakes at the Mexico City racetrack - Traffic Travelor, Tetris B, Run Happy and Separate Jets. As such, these were new names on the equestrian scene and at the Sotelo track.
Run Happy (#6) lagged behind on the way out of the gate and by the time she moved, her position had already been taken over by Famous Eagle Posters; her rider no longer pushing
his mount. The rest of the group advanced towards the finish line, but already ahead of the competition was SC Baby Jess (#9) who moved towards the center of the track where he hit Separate Jets (#8) and put himself at the head of the group a small margin over Tetris B (#4) and VH Ice (#5).
The stewards opened an inquiry to review the violation and determined to disqualify SC Baby Jess from first to eighth place, so the win was credited to the red colt Tetris B, who had Yair Daniel Báez Soto at the controls.
The race time was a hand-timed :17.30 for
a 91 speed index. With this victory, Tetris B adds his fourth win in 19 starts, plus six seconds and a third place finish. His record reports
that he was a finalist in the Louisiana QHBA Sale Futurity-G1, LQHBA Louisiana Million Futurity-G1 and the Louisiana Juvenile. His last performance in the United States was at Evangeline Downs in an optional claiming race on Dec. 14, 2019.
For this victory he added to his account $187,251 pesos (approx. $8,537 US), now totaling more than 2 million pesos in earnings.
The gelding was raised in the United States by Bielau Oaks. He is the son of Fast Prize Dash and out of Diva Eleanor by Bigtime Favorite, and he belongs to the Cuadra Los Gavilanes, where Rubén Romo García trains him.
We highlight that Fast Prize Dash is in service in Mexico, in the Cuadra San Agustín
of Ciudad Isla, Veracruz. His first Mexican sons were weanlings in 2020. With wide acceptance among mare owners, there are well-founded expectations in the performance of his progeny.
After the disqualification of SC Baby Jess, second place was for VH Ice (Valiant Hero–Icy Valentine), who had Edgar Eduardo García aboard. The gelding belongs to Cuadra Zamarrero who is trained by Gregorio Alberto Razo Parra.
Third place was awarded to Magnifiko (Ivory James– First Fervor), who was ridden by jockey Alejandro Gómez Díaz for the Cuadra Tayahua and trainer Liderme René Gómez Díaz.
Followed by Cartels Famous Eagle (One Famous Eagle–A Snow Cartel), Carters Calyx (Carters Cartel–Confidential Run), VF Great Domination (Dominyun–Next Great Love), Separate Jets (Separatist–Miss Three), SC Baby Jess (One Sweet Jess–Built For Fun), Traffic Travelor (FDD Dynasty–Traffic Eyes) and Run Happy (Jesse James Jr–Dasha Easy).
