Stripsteak seems to do his best run- ning at Evergreen Park, six of his eleven wins have been there, his latest being the $45,255 Bank of America Evergreen Park Championship Challenge on Aug. 15.
The gelding stepped away from the 5-post in second and got the first call under rider Ricardo Moreno. They continued to hold the lead, which was never in doubt, and crossed the wire 2-lengths in front. They completed the 440 yards in :22.417, posting an 89 speed index. The gelding brought home the $22,174 winner’s share of the purse for owner Charles Stojan and trainer William Leech.
Stripsteak now has a race record of 19-11(5)-2-1(1). His other stakes victories include the 2019 Evergreen Park Championship Challenge, 2018 Canada Cup Derby and 2018 Peace Country Derby.
Steve Burns DVM bred Stripsteak out of winner Ruths Chris. She has produced 100% money earners from 12 starters, including top earner Black Fryday, winner of the Southern California Derby-G2 and Governor’s Cup Derby-RG3. Stripsteak is her second stakes winner.

Tom Kenway. The gelding has won four stakes races, including the Grand Prairie 440 Stakes, Canada Cup Derby and Alberta Bred Derby.
Scarface Judge (Judge Cash- Pardon) was third under Jose Rocha for owner Luigi Sale and trainer Buckey Stockwell. Raced exclusively at Evergreen Park, the gelding was coming off a victory in an allowance earlier this month.
Gone To Be Bright (Gone To The Mountain-Bright Tarbaby), Always Right (Stel Corona-Hard Lining), JD Wagon Boss (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Elly Mae) and Ali Returns (High Rate Of Return-Alikazam) completed the order of finish.
