                 Expo Square Stakes
BUBBA BAD
by John Moorehouse
Bubba Bad won the $17,075 Expo Square Stakes about as overwhelmingly as a horse can win a race. The five-year-old gelding exploded out of the
gates to an early 7-length lead and won by 8-lengths in the event held June 26 at Fair Meadows.
There was no stopping Bubba Bad in this one. He broke well and never looked back, navigating the 870 yards in :45.523 and logging a 101 speed index while running through a 6 mph crosswind on a sloppy but sealed course.
Breeder/owner/trainer Ray Enlow collected a $10,338 payday, improving the gelding’s earnings to $133,972. Bubba Bad was the post-time favorite at 2-5 odds. Enlow bred Bubba Bad out of Dashin Di, a lightly-raced 2005 mare. Bubba Bad was foaled in Oklahoma, and has raced exclusively on the Sooner State’s circuit of tracks since making his debut in May of 2018.
Ray Enlow home-bred and trains Bubba Bad, who collected his third straight win. The gelding’s overall record improved to 12-3-3 in 27 starts, and he has now posted 11 wins in 15 lifetime starts at the 870-yard distance. This marked his second victory in stakes company, both of which have come in the Expo Square. He won last year’s version of the race, taking that one by 4 1/2-lengths.
Docs River Spirit (Jess Jones-Eye Spy Valletta) finished a distant second for owner Joel Rod
Pierce. The Matt Whitekiller trainee had Andrew Samaniego in the irons. CJS Rockhard N Ready (Rock Solid Jess-Sultry Miss) placed third by daylight for Jake Eck, the owner and trainer. Justine Klaiber was aboard. Rounding out the field was Petes Favorite in fourth, followed by Candyman Dash (Cartels Candy Man-Peekaboo Dash), A Dash Of Jess (Jess Tambien-VP In Arms), El Red (Dashing Vike-Fancy Easter Parade) and SW Gunslinger (Second Painted Sign-Smoking Kay TB).

COWBOYHATBYGUCCI
by Michael Cusortelli
Cowboyhatbygucci, a bay son of Champion Apollitical Blood who is owned and trained by Uriel Dominguez Sr., broke his maiden with a
3/4-length victory in the $30,000 Rising C Equine Futurity at Energy Downs on June 26.
Ridden by jockey Uriel Dominguez, Cowboyhatbygucci broke well in third from the 10-gate. He remained in that position through the top of the stretch, then finished well to score the victory in AAA time.
Cowboyhatbygucci covered the 300 yards in :15.324 while aided by a reported 30-mph tail wind.
The gelding banked $15,000 from his first win in four outs.
Cowboyhatbygucci posted the fourth-fastest qualifying time with a second-place finish in one of three trials to the Rising C Equine Futurity held on June 6.
Raced exclusively in the Intermountain region, Cowboyhatbygucci has now earned $22,468 with the additon of this winner’s share. He has a race record of 1(1)-1-1 from four starts.
His record includes a fifth-place finish in the 300-yard $107,869 Hadley/Giles Futurity at Weber Downs in Ogden, Utah.
The gelding was bred in Oklahoma by Ezra Lee, Jason Giles, and Melvin Neugebauer out of Ms Fast First Prize, a winning daughter of DMNV Mountable, who ran second in the 2014 West Texas Derby-G3 at Sunland Park.
His second dam, the Heza Fast Man mare
Fast First Prize, won the 2002 Heritage Place Futurity-G1 and produced Fast Prize Zoom, a half- sister to Ms Fast First Prize and winner of the 2008 West Texas Futurity-G1 at Sunland Park.
Zoomin Jess (Apollitical Jess-Zoomin Doll) ran second for owner Bill Doenz. Jesus Valenzuela rode the Oklahoma-bred filly for trainer Josh Taylor. Zoomin Jess has yet to break her maiden.
Fastest qualifier Fire Warning (Heat Warning- Fly Thru Fire) finished third under Rey Hernandez for owners Gibbs, Thompson, and Ostdahl, and trainer Tyler Gibbs.
Free Roller (Docs Best Card-Grawnya), MTV Flash (Jess Elie-Bay Be Brooks), Jessies Train (Jesse James Jr-Story Train), Volar (Fly Thru The Fire-Corona Mas Fina), Suzes Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Brown Eye Suze), GW Snow Jet (Jets Quick Fortune-TNT Separate Dasher), and Honey Butte (FDD Dynasty-Heading Home) completed the order of finish.
Wyoming Bred Futurity
HES R DYNASTY
by Tracy Gantz
Hes R Dynasty kept his record a perfect three- for-three when he captured the 300-yard $57,938 Wyoming Bred Futurity at Energy Downs
on June 26.
Berkley Packer rode Hes R Dynasty after Jesus
Valenzuela opted to stay on fastest-qualifier Pieces Of Dynasty.
When the gate opened, VVR Workin Man went to the front, with Hes R Dynasty a close second. The two dueled throughout the contest, with Hes R Dynasty coming on late to wrest away the lead and score by a head in :15.280. The clocking was worth a career high 102 speed index.
Trainer Riley Moosman qualified five horses to the Wyoming Bred Futurity, and he trains Hes R Dynasty and Pieces Of Dynasty for owners Andrea and Eddie Jensen.
Hes R Dynasty broke his maiden on May 16
at Laurel Brown Racetrack with a nose victory in a 300-yard maiden event.

1 1/2-lengths, and he finished third in his racing debut at Laurel Brown Racetrack.
Riley also trained third-place BK Wildkat (Pappasito-Lotta Kat Moves), bred and owned by Bryce Moosman. Tyson Lusk rode BK Wildkat, who finished second in his trial after a fifth in his racing debut at Pocatello Downs. BK Wildkat is still looking to win her first race.
