(June 15) - Chickie Cherry Cola (Chicks Beduino-No Policy Limit, Reb’s Policy TB) died after suffering from colic. The 2000 gray stallion was rushed to surgery but did not make it through the procedure. Chickie Cherry Cola earned $92,176 in his career, winning
the 2002 Northwest Juvenile Challenge-G3
at Les Bois Park. He also finished second in the Northwest Championship Challenge-G2 and Northwest Derby Challenge-G3, and
third in the AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship-G1 and Corona Chick Handicap-G3. Chickie Cherry Cola is the
sire of over $875,000, including New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity-RG3 winner King Of Pop ($103,898). The stallion was bred by Pat Clark Living Trust and was owned by Saucer Five LP.
ATTILA’S STORM TB
(June 23) - Attila’s Storm (Forest Wildcat-Sweet Symmetry, Magesterial), a Grade 3 stakes winner and stakes sire of Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses, died after suffering a heart attack while recovering from colic surgery. The 2002 stallion made 18 starts with 5 wins and earnings of $534,983. In 2007, longtime Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred

breeder R.D. Hubbard purchased the stallion and retired him to the breeding barn. In 2020, Attila’s Storm was sold as part of the online R.D. Hubbard dispersal sale. He was purchased by Jimmy Vasquez for $90,000 and stood the 2021 breeding season at Double
LL Farms. Attila’s Storm is the sire of 25 Thoroughbred stakes winners and the earners of $14.6 million, as well as 19 Quarter Horse winners, four stakes horses, and the earners of $927,191.

FINE OAK CORONA
(July 1) - Mountain States Equine announced that Fine Oak Corona (Coronas Prospect-Like A Fine
Oak, Oak Tree Special) died from complications related to colic. The stallion won four races, earned $227,312, and was ranked as a leader by earnings in 2015. He was second in the Ruidoso Futurity-G1 and was a finalist in the Rainbow Futurity-G1, West Texas Futurity-G2, West Texas Maturity-G2, Lovington Stakes-G2 and All American Juvenile. His first foals are 2 year olds of 2021.
(April 12) - Grade 1 sire Agouti (Corona Cartel-Easy Date Dash, Dash For Cash) was euthanized at 22 years of age due to
the onset of old age and the effects
of laminitis. Bred and owned by Joe Bettencourt and trained by Paul Jones, Agouti was a leading earner in 2001 and 2002 with $278,495 banked winning 7 races including the Southern California Derby-G1 and Cypress Sophomore Handicap. Owned by a syndicate, the
1999 sorrel stallion is the sire of over $6.2 million with his top earner Swingin Daddyo ($718,108). Agouti was laid to rest at Delta Equine Center in Louisiana.

STREAKIN VICTORY
Multiple stakes winner and iron-horse Streakin Victory (Streakin Six-Running Blood, Victory Stride TB) died in early June at the age of 33. The 1988 bay gelding was bred by Clarence Scharbauer Jr. and was owned and trained by Scott L. Willoughby. Streakin Victory raced from two until 12 years of age and competed in 121 races at
12 tracks, including 51 stakes events. He won 26 races, finished second in 12 and third in 17 with $180,394 in earnings and eight stakes wins. After retirement, Streakin Victory excelled on the California trails
and in the roping arena for Willoughby. Danny Cardoza and Scoop Vessels took him on Rancho Vistadores ride, where he won the 550-yard race for three consecutive years. After the gelding was pensioned, he lived his final years at Ed Allred’s Rolling A Ranch. “Streakin Victory was my first winner at Los Alamitos, my first stakes winner at Los Alamitos and my first Grade 1 winner period. He was a pretty amazing horse,” said Willoughby. “He will always be my special horse.”
