The dam of Lenas Sugar Daddy was unraced Bit Of Sugar by War Chic and
out of Sugar Mama by Sugar Bars. She was purchased in 1976 by Shorty Freeman. The Doc O’Lena cross on Sugar Bars line mares proved very successful for Freeman with a mare named Bar Sock Babe by Bar El Do by Sugar Bars. One of the foals produced from this cross was Lenaette, the 1975 NCHA Open Futurity Champion.
Bit O Sugar is the dam of only five foals with three of them being performers. Along with Lenas Sugar Daddy, she is the dam of Low Cal Al, an ROM performer with 13 AQHA points, and Omlena, an NCHA money earner. Omlena is the dam of Omlena Peppy, a three-time AQHA Youth Reserve World Champion twice in reining and once in working cow horse. She was also Superior in amateur reining and earned 106.5 points in reining and working cow horse.
War Chic, the sire of Bit Of Sugar, is a most interesting ingredient in the pedigree
of Blazin Jetolena. He was bred by Frank Vessels, the founder of Los Alamitos Race Course and what we now know as the Vessels Stallion Farm. War Chic made 86 starts, winning 21 with 13 seconds and nine thirds earning $35,453. He was a stakes winner in the Bay Shore Juvenile Stakes. He was the 1958 Co-Champion Two-Year-Old Colt.
The sire record for War Chic shows that he sired 220 starters, 109 racing ROM, 12 stakes winners and earnings of $1,412,555. His leading money earner was Don Guerro with earnings of $171,869 from 35 starts with nine wins, seven seconds and four thirds. He was the winner of five stakes, including the 1974 Champion of Champions, (now Grade 1 race) and 1973 Golden State Derby, now a Grade

The sire of War Chic was War Bam, a stakes placed Thoroughbred that was used by Vessels. This horse had 94 starts, 21 wins, 16 seconds and 12 thirds, earning $37,410. He became the sire of several key individuals in the Vessels breeding program. One of those individuals was Scoop Bam, the dam of Scooper Chick, a AAA/AQHA Champion sired by Triple Chick. Scooper Chick is the sire of Legs La Scoop, the second dam of Mr Jess Perry, the #3 All Time Leading Sire of Money earners. Another contribution War Bam made was siring Do Good Bam, the
