Deal Again, out of Sugar Mama, shown winning the 1982 Phoenix Handicap.
Sugar Bars’ stakes winners include:
Champion and AQHA Dam of Distinction Chicado V, the dam of War Chic.
Sugar Mama was the dam of Bit Of Sugar. She had seven races with one win. She went from the race track to the halter arena where she earned 20 halter points with one Reserve Grand Championship. She is the dam of Deal Again, her stakes winner in the 1981 Turf Paradise Handicap and leading money earner of $71,350. When bred to War Chic, Sugar Mama produced the runners Country Boy Mac, a stakes placed runner in races like the Prescott Downs Futurity with
a second and a third in the Prescott Downs Derby. She also produced the stakes placed runner Sugartown by War Chic. He was third in the Pomona Futurity.
Sugar Bars, the sire of Sugar Mama, is by Three Bars and he is out of Frontera Sugar by Rey. Sugar Bars was a noted sire of racehorses and show horses. His runners earned $378,081 with 139 race ROM and nine stakes winners. His stakes winners include Bar Face, winner
of the 1963 Ruidoso Futurity and the 1963 Colorado Futurity. Sugar Bars was the sire of performance ROM with 36 AQHA Superior Award winners in halter and/or performance. He sired 30 AQHA Champions and of
these horses 19 were AAA or better rated on the racetrack. Some of these AAA/AQHA Champion runners include stakes winners Counterplay, Figure 8 Bars and Vanna Bar.
We are all familiar with the role of Sugar Bars on the barrel racing industry as the sire of Flit Bar, a noted sire of barrel horses with horses like Flit Rose, Wabana Bar Flit,
stakes winners, including Table Tennis, Three Chicks, The Ole Man, and of course War Chic. When we add in Triple Chick, an unraced son of Three Bars and Chicado V, we find that the foals of Chicado V are a part of the pedigree of Mr Jess Perry. We see that the dam of Mr Jess Perry was Scoopie
Bar Face, shown winning the 1963 Colorado Futurity.
Champion Counterplay, shown winning the 1967 Fountain Valley Civic League.
Champion Vanna Bar, shown winning the 1965 Sunland Championship.
Champion Figure 8 Bars
Fein by Sinn Fein by Three Oh’s by Three Chicks by Three Bars and out of Chicado V. We have already seen that Scooper Chick by Triple Chick was the sire of Legs La Scoop, the dam of Scoopie Fein. This gives Scoopie Fein a breeding pattern of 4x4 to Chicado V. Which is inbreeding to a Superior Female.
