Ezee Monee enjoys Ruidoso Downs and does her best running at that track. Each of her six wins have come there, including a sparkling
victory in the Sept. 3 All American Oaks-G1. Qualifying the fourth fastest with a second
in her All American Oaks trial, Ezee Monee went off as the 3-1 third choice in the Oaks final and drew the outside under jockey Adrian Ramos, who has ridden her in most of her previous starts.
She broke well in second, but several others raced to the front and she had her work cut out for her. The filly never gave up and found another gear late in the 440-yard race. She powered past her rivals to win by a head in :21.384.
“As soon as she broke clear, I thought she had a pretty good chance,” said Jaime Aldavaz Sr., who trains Ezee Monee for owner Isidoro Esparza. “I figured we were going to win when she broke.”
Aldavaz noted that in the past Ezee Monee hasn’t broken from the gate particularly sharply
