BUDDER OFF FRIENDS
by Tracy Gantz
Budder Off Friends had much better luck in the Sept. 16 Go Josie Go Handicap at Los Alamitos than she did in the Golden State Derby-G2, when
she was wiped out at the start from both sides. But she came back valiantly to win the Go Josie Go. Favored at 3-2 and with Jesus Ayala aboard,
Budder Off Friends started this time with plenty of room on either side of her. Relentless Pressure took the early lead, but Budder Off Friends caught that rival and scored by a neck in :17.564 for 350 yards.
Adan Farias trains Budder Off Friends for owner David Hinkins. Earlier this year, Budder Off Friends ran second in the Check Her Twice Handicap.
Hinkins bought Budder Off Friends for $60,000 at the 2021 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Lazy E Ranch consigned the filly to the sale for breeder Double Bar S Ranch.

ONE FABULOUS BOY
by Tracy Gantz
One Fabulous Boy moved up to graded stakes company this year after racing primarily in the allowance ranks. He put it all together in the Aug.
20 Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge-G2 for his first stakes victory and also came away with a New Track Record.
Nothin Like You, sent away as the 2-5 favorite, zipped out to the lead from the rail, but 19-1
One Fabulous Boy, under jockey Angel Ramirez, soon engaged him for the lead. The two dueled throughout the 440 yards, with One Fabulous Boy drawing out to win by 3/4-length in track-record time of :21.020, while posting a 118 speed index.
Edward Hardy trains One Fabulous Boy for Paul Wolfe, who bred the gelding in Oklahoma with his wife Diane. Previously, One Fabulous Boy had been a multiple allowance winner.
The Wolfes bred One Fabulous Boy out of Check Out Kaelie. While racing for them, Check Out Kaelie finished second in the 2009 Frances Carr Distaff Stakes-G3 and 2010 Skip Zimmerman Memorial Stakes and third in the 2008 Northlands Futurity-G3. The mare has produced four winners in six starters.
Nothin Like You (Favorite Cartel-Whos Kissin Carter), ridden by Stormy Smith, owned by Bradbury Racing, and trained by John Hammes, finished second. The 4-year-old gelding has won five stakes.

LYNNDER 16
by Tracy Gantz

Lynnder 16 came out of the rail post position on the lead and quickly built up a length margin. Favored Jess Give Mea Reason closed at the wire, but Lynnder 16 held off that rival to score by a nose in :19.432.
Jason Olmstead trains Lynnder 16 for owners Tom Maher and Richard Tobin, who bought
the mare as a yearling for $31,000 at the 2017 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale. Lynnder 16
