Zae McNelis of Nampa, Idaho, are thrilled with the results, and they certainly played key roles. The McNelises own and bred Scoops Dynasty.
In addition to his 2022 exploits, Scoops Dynasty won the 2021 John Deere Los Alamitos Juvenile Challenge and finished third in last year’s AQHA Juvenile Challenge Stakes-G2, the latter at Albuquerque. That has been his only race away from Los Alamitos.
Monty Arrossa trains Scoops Dynasty. Arrossa had a terrific weekend at Los Alamitos. The night before, he saddled Chicks First Flash to win the John Deere Los Alamitos Juvenile Championship Challenge.
The McNelises bred Scoops Dynasty in Idaho out of Bye Sweet Girl, a mare they purchased at the Los Alamitos Equine Sale. She has produced four winners from five starters, with earnings of $319,209. Her stakes winners include Mommas Dynasty, who won The Plan Handicap in 2018. Her stakes placed runners include Rumpled Britches and Reason To Stay In. Rumpled Britches is the dam of My Game Plan, winner of this year’s Los Alamitos Maiden Stakes and also owned and bred by the McNelises.
Rodrigo Aceves rode Set For It (Seperate Interest-Up For It) to second for owners Jesus Avila and Jesus Cuevas and trainer Adan Farias. Set For It won the 2021 Tolltac Handicap.
Dasha Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Dasha Freda), piloted by Jesus Ayala, and Griffindore (Corona Cartel-Little Surfer), ridden by Ruben Lozano, dead-heated for third. S-Quarter K LLC bred Dasha Dynasty, who was placing in his second stakes, and owns him with Robyn Gordon and Juan Humberto Moya. Jose Flores trains Dasha Dynasty. Paul Jones owns Griffindore and trains him with Roque Gonzalez and Robyn Gordon.
