 APOLITICAL EYEOPENER SI 92, $17,670
Apolitical Eyeopener broke his maiden in his All American Derby trial. From only five starts, the gelding has hit the board three times and finished fourth in the Rainbow Invitational. In his All American Derby trial, Apolitical Eyeopener broke well and had the lead at the first call, proving best as he crossed the wire a 1/2-length in front of the field. Bred by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP, the gelding is owned by Ross Roark, Jerry Windham & Kenneth Grainger. The Trey Wood trainee had Ricky Ramirez aboard for the sixth fastest qualifying run.
STRONG SOUL SI 93, $29,794
Strong Soul is still looking for his first stakes victory after finishing last season as a finalist in the Southwest Juvenile Invitational Championship-G2. This year, the gelding has made five starts, with his initial win of the year coming in his All American Derby trial. Ridden by Oscar Andrade Jr., Strong Soul broke towards the back of the pack, but caught up to the leaders and dueled to the wire to finish on top a head in front. The victory was good enough to secure the seventh fastest qualifying spot. Strong Soul was bred by Bobby Simmons, is owned by Newman Cattle Company LLC and is trained by Trey Wood.
WHIRLAWAY WAGON SI 93, $92,251
Already a multiple stakes winner, Whirlaway Wagon won last year’s Texas Classic Juvenile as well as the Remington Park Juvenile. This year, the gelding has made three starts, winning
his Rainbow Derby trial. In his All American Derby trial, Whirlaway Wagon overcame a poor start and got up for second place and the eighth qualifying spot. Bred by Buckskin EC Inc., Whirlaway Wagon is owned by Roberto Chacon, trained by Manuel Rodolfo Rodriguez and was ridden by Esgar Ramirez.
DELIGHT US ALL SI 91, $90,549
Making six starts this season, Delight Us All has been a finalist in both the Rainbow Derby-G1 and Heritage Place Derby-G1. Ridden by Jimmy Brooks in his All American Derby trial, Delight Us All overcame a bumped start and settled for second place for trainer Cody L. Noel. Bred by McColee Land & Livestock LLC, the gelding is owned by Reliance Ranches LLC. His time was good enough to secure the ninth fastest qualifying spot.
HT DOUBLE JESS SI 89, $13,162
HT Double Jess is still searching for a stakes victory. The gelding has made eight starts and hit the board three times. Owned by Cream Of The Crop Inc., HT Double Jess was able to snag the final qualifying spot in the All American Derby trials. HT Double Jess broke on top but was overtaken and had to settle for third place under Luis Flores-Garcia. The Eric Valenzuela trainee was bred by Stacy Hill & Vicki Tebow in Oklahoma.
