  SEXY BIKINI MODEL
  Sent to post at odds of 18-1 in a field
of seven state-bred fillies and mares, Brian Mundell’s Sexy Bikini Model responded with a wire-to-wire victory in the November 11, 1-mile Peppers Pride New Mexico Cup Distaff Championship (R) at Zia Park.
Sexy Bikini Model set fractions of :24.92, :48.03 and 1:11.52 before reaching the wire in 1:36.92, and her margin of victory was 3/4-length from 14-1 longshot Short Pockets. Ernesto Valdez-Jiminez rode the homebred 4-year-old filly for trainer Bart Hone.
Sexy Bikini Model earned $29,700 from her first career stakes win. The chestnut filly’s sire, Attila’s Storm, is an 18-year-old son of the Storm Cat stallion Forest Wildcat. Raced from 2004-07, Attila’s Storm banked $534,983 from 18 outs and won the 2007 Toboggan Handicap (G3) at Aqueduct Racetrack.
Attila’s Storm has sired the earners of more than $13.3 million from 10 crops, including multiple stakes winners Go For A Stroll and Stormin The Jewels. The stallion is owned by Jimmy J. Vasquez and Scott Branson, and he
stands at W.L. Mooring’s Double L Farm at Bosque, New Mexico.
Sexy Bikini Model is one of two win-
ners from as many starters foaled by Unconstitutional, an unraced 14-year-old daughter of Grand Slam. The filly is a half sis- ter to My Bikini Fell Off, a daughter of Elusive Jazz who won three New Mexico-bred stakes from 2015-17, including the 2017 Peppers Pride Handicap (R) at Sunland Park.
Sexy Bikini Model’s second dam, the win- ning Deputy Minister mare Affairs Of State, ran second in the ‘02 Railbird Stakes (G3) at Hollywood Park. Affairs Of State produced three starters, including Andersonstate,
a multiple stakes-placed half sister to Unconstitutional.
Sexy Bikini Model traces back to her third dam, Sexy Slew, a stakes-winning daughter of Slew O’Gold and a half sister to two stakes winners.
Sexy Bikini Model returned a $38.20 win mutuel. The filly has won four of 12 races and has earned $101,944.
Movin On, the 13-10 favorite, finished third and was followed by Orogrande, Hennessy Express, Movin’ On Bye, and Beautiful Bounty.
Short Pockets is a daughter of Southwestern Heat owned by John Pinkerton, who also bred the 5-year-old mare. Short Pockets has won two of 17 outs and has banked $77,910.
Movin On races for C. Donnell Echols. A homebred 5-year-old Indian Firewater mare and winner of this race in 2018, Movin On has won six of 21 starts and has earned $245,548.
Barton Ranch Stables LLC and Blake Rust. A $30,000 claimer during his 5-year-old campaign, Shining Source has won 13 of 56 starts, including six stakes, and the $9,900 runner-up share of the Rocky Gulch New Mexico Cup Championship purse increased his bankroll to $628,388.
Jet N G races for Maurcenia Cross. A home- bred 5-year-old son of the Old Trieste stallion Mr. Trieste, the gelding has won four of 22 outs and has earned $182,075.

  Thunder Dome, a 6-year-old chestnut son of Dome racing for W.D. Carson Sr., M.H. Carson, and Leach Racing LLC, scored a clear 4 1/4-length win in the November 11, 1-mile Rocky Gulch New Mexico Cup Championship (R) at Zia Park.
Ridden by Shane Laviolette for trainer Dallas Barton, Thunder Dome covered his eight-furlong trip in a track-record 1:35.10. The gelding earned the $29,700 winner’s share of the $50,000 purse and his sixth career stakes victory.
Thunder Dome was bred by Frank Richardson and Mooring, and he was coming off of a second-place finish in a 1-mile open- condition allowance route for New Mexico- breds at Zia Park on October 21. The gelding is one of 127 winners from 206 starters sired by Dome, an unraced son of Storm Cat.
Dome has sired seven stakes winners and the earners of more than $6.6 million, includ- ing multiple stakes winners Glory Be Mine and ZZ Dome. The stallion was recently retired from stud duty.
Thunder Dome is also one of seven winners from nine starters produced by Lauren Lynn,
a winning and multiple stakes placed daughter of Hadif. Thunder Dome is a half-brother to 2010 Sierra Starlet Handicap (R) winner If I Had a Bull.
Thunder Dome’s second dam, the Full Choke mare Soiree, won three stakes in New Mexico from 1996-98, including the ‘96
Rio Grande Kindergarten Futurity (R) and Kachina Stakes at Ruidoso Downs. His third dam, the winning Barachois mare Flying B.G., produced a total of four stakes winners, three of whom were full brothers to Soiree, including four-time stakes winner Talent Connection.
Thunder Dome has won 11 of 39 outs and he has earned $665,073, of which $102,200 has been banked from five races this year. His season resume includes a neck victory in the 7-furlong, $100,000 O.D. McDonald Stakes (R) at Albuquerque Downs on September 13.
Shining Source finished second and was followed by Jet N G, Next Affair, Pulpits Fox, Mr. Wild Rockete, and Evacuee.
