Runner-up Mi Amor Secreto (The Louisiana Cartel-Streakin In Secret) and jockey Jose Alvarez gave game chase but had to settle for the second place spot. The geld- ing, who is owned and bred by Kelly Perez and conditioned by Marcos Carrizales, won this year’s Remington Park Championship Challenge-G2, and was a Grade 1 winner in 2019. The $41,874 second-place share of this purse increased his earnings to $510,729.
Apollitical Pence (Apollitical Jess-Send City) and Francisco Calderon put in a strong bid from the outset and held third, just a nose behind Mi Amor Secreto. The multiple graded stakes-placed 4-year-old gelding races for
the same connections as the winner—Dunn Ranch and Valeriano Racing Stables—and is also trained by Arrossa. Bred in Oklahoma by Dunn Ranch and Womack Cavender Farms, Apollitical Pence picked up $23,911, increasing his earnings to $684,016.
Valiant Tiberias (Valiant Hero- American Feature) finished in fourth
place and was followed by Hes Limitless (Corona Cartel-PJ Chick In Black), Shockinglyfamous (One Famous Eagle- Shocktime TB), Eagles Fly Higher (One Famous Eagle-Lone Bet), Danjer (FDD Dynasty-Shez Jess Toxic), Apocalyptical Jess (Apollitical Jess-Cassandra Crest), EOS A Political Win (Apollitical Jess-Pithia), Hot Dam Bam A Lam (Captain Courage- Hot Nova), and Fenian Faith (Apollitical Jess-Three Green Leaves).
