Special Effort set his name in stone as the first
horse to win the All American Triple Crown-the Kansas Futurity, the Rainbow Futurity and the All American Futurity, and to this day no horse has ever put their name on that stone.

Dan Urschel passed away in 2014 and Jolene continues their interest in Quarter Horse racing. The Urschels have had a long and successful position in the race industry, winning
many of the top races. They have owned two All American Futurity winners in Pie In The Sky (1979) and Special Effort, fulfilling their All American Dream twice. And they are the only ones that have fulfilled the dream of winning the All American Triple Crown.
Special Effort’s winning connections include owners Dan & Jolene Urschel, trainer Johnie Goodman and jockey Billy Hunt.
