Heritage Place Juvenile

ne Valiant Love missed out on the Heritage
Place Futurity but got one heck of a consolation prize. Tabbed the post-time favorite for the Heritage Place Juvenile, the two-year-old gelding prevailed in the $100,000 stakes held June 3 at Remington Park.
One Valiant Love got stronger with every stride. He broke well from the 3-post, was running a close second at the first call, and opened a 1-length lead by the time he entered the stretch. Jockey Francisco Calderon widened the gap to 1 1/4-lengths as they reached the finish line.
Trained by Monty Arrossa, One Valiant Love finished the 330-yard race in :17.335 for a 99 speed index. Dunn Ranch owns One Valiant Love, who banked a $31,645 payday that swelled the gelding’s lifetime earnings to $44,364, nearly tripling his prior existing bankroll.
One Valiant Love entered black type in his third career out and logged his second consecutive victory. He won his 350-yard trial for the Heritage Place Futurity, but his :17.576 time wasn’t worthy of making the futurity lineup.
Valeriano Racing Stables LLC bred One Valiant Love and own his dam, stakes winner Echoes Of Love. Deck Stack (Docs Best Card-Ring A Ring of
Roses) placed second by a 1/2-length for Elizabeth Logan. The Dee Keener trainee had James Flores in the irons. Docs Dusty Dash (Docs Best Card-Docs Dusty Dale) finished third by a neck. The gelding is owned by Dusty Rose Ranch LLC, trained by Stacey Capps, and had Eugenio Navarrete Jr. aboard.
The remaining finishing order was Paint This Rose (PYC Paint Your Wagon-First Tea Rose),
JT True Grit (Capo de Capi-Redneck Kitty),
BV Brother (FDD Dynasty-Striking Presence), and Coronados Fate (Coronado Cartel-Fate Cast Weight). AJJ Rock My Heart, AJs Little Reba, and Lady Corona 123 were scratched.

an Lorenzo Dash is on a roll. The filly’s victory
in the June 21 Vals Fortune/Teddy Abrams Jr Stakes-RG2 was her third consecutive stakes win at Delta Downs.
JLA Indy Rogue stumbled at the start of the 400-yard Vals Fortune just inside of San Lorenzo Dash, the 1-2 favorite. San Lorenzo Dash zoomed to the front under jockey Ubaldo Luna and was never headed to scored by 1-length in :19.835.
Rogelio Marquez owns and bred San Lorenzo Dash, and his uncle, Jesus Marquez, trains the filly. San Lorenzo Dash has four victories in five races this year, including in the Delta Dash Stakes and Mother’s Day Stakes, and a second in the Billy Montgomery Stakes. She placed in two stakes last year as well.
Rogelio Marquez bred San Lorenzo Dash in Louisiana from winner San Lorenzo Eagle, a full sister to World Champion Bodacious Eagle. San Lorenzo Dash is the mare’s first winner in two starters. This
is also the family of Champions Dashing Phoebe, Heartswideopen, and Special Phoebe.
Paul Ridgon trains second-place Jrs Corona Toast (Coronas Leaving You-Egos Toast To
Dash) and owns him with Gyth Rigdon, Gerardo Gonzalez, and Juan Luis Fernandez. Juan Garcia Jr. rode the 6-year-old gelding, who has placed in four other stakes, including the 2021 Vals Fortune.
Jorge Garcia piloted JJs Lace (Five Bar Cartel- Lethal N Lace) to third for trainer Carlos Fierro and owner Olvera Ranch Distributor LLC. JJs Lace also ran third in the April 28 Open Me A Corona Stakes-RG2
Completing the field were One Sweet Rogue (Heza Fast Rogue-Sweet Pea Barbara TB), One Sweet Boss (One Sweet Jess-Starlight Bess), and JLA Indy Rogue (Heza Fast Rogue-French Indy TB). Tee Britt was scratched.

ne Sweet Boss secured his first stakes victory
in the $50,000 Grade 2 Miss Polly Classic at Delta Downs on June 3.
Despite a bump during the break, One Sweet Boss and jockey Gilbert Ortiz prevailed at the line with a head victory. They completed the 400 yards in :19.957 while posting a 90 speed index.
Trained by Phillip Calais Jr., One Sweet Boss collected the $30,000 winner’s share of the purse for owner/breeder Flying K Ranch LLC, pushing his total bankroll to $99,963.
This victory marks the fifth win of the gelding’s career. He was a finalist in last year’s Grade 3 Opelousas Stakes at Evangeline Downs.
Flying K Ranch LLC bred One Sweet Boss out
of multiple winner Starlight Bess, who is a half-sister to Genes Effort, winner of the 2008 Wyoming All Breed Derby. Starlight Bess has produced 100% winners from five starters. One Sweet Boss is her first stakes winner.
One Sweet Boss’ second dam is Lovers Dash, third place finisher in the Diamond Classic Futurity-RG1 and AQRA Turf Paradise Futurity.
Into The Grey (Sir Runaway Dash-Sass That Chick) and jockey David Alvarez made a late duel, just missing in second place for owner Rogelio Marquez and trainer Jesus Marquez. The gelding has won or placed in 10 of his 15 starts.
Rogue From The South (Heza Fast Rogue- Southern Mandee) finished third under Jorge Garcia for owner Fausto G. Mendoza and trainer Joel Huitron. The gelding has won or placed in 10 of his 16 career races.
Lett It Happen (Jet Black Patriot-Dont Lett Her Down), JLA Indy Rogue (Heza Fast Rogue-French Indy), Tee Britt (Tee Cos-Special Britt) and Lafitte (Sir Runaway Dash-Me And Me Only) completed the order of finish.
