FAVORITE BLING

Favorite Bling soared to her first stakes victory in the $38,700 Adequan Sun Downs Derby Challenge in Kennewick, Washington on May 5.
The black filly broke from the 6-post in fourth and grabbed a 1/2-length lead midway down the stretch. She started to drift out, but jockey Salvador Ibarra was able to guide her back to finish a neck on top.
Favorite Bling completed the 400 yards in :19.858, posting a career-high 107 speed index.
The $17,802 winner’s share boosted her lifetime earnings to $25,680 and her record is three wins from 12 starts. Juan Morales owns Favorite Bling, who has won her last two of three since Juan Romo Jr. has taken over the training.
Donald C. and Peggy Boyle bred Favorite Bling out of stakes placed Spring Bling, a full sister to 2-time Champion and 2-time New Track Record setter Strawkins. She has produced 100% winners from two starters, including Northwest Hi-Point Three-Year-Old Gelding Cousin Wheelz. Favorite Bling is her first stakes winner and top money earner. The filly’s second dam is graded stakes finalist Shirleys Strawfly.
L Bar D Razle Dazle (Ragazzo-Dash Home Deb) and Eduardo Gutierrez-Sosa finished second for owners Tryn Espelien and Hernan Torres and trainer Hector Magallanes.
Corona B Gone (Favorite Cartel-Go Girl Gone) finished third under Lorenzo Lopez for owner Ruben Magallanes and trainer Hector Magallanes.
True Copy (TR Dasher-Realistically), L Bar D Classic Trip (Mr Nightlinger TB-Be First Rose), Super Starr (Hadtobenuts-All Star Elite), Coronas Bar (Corona Cartel-Five Bar Molly), Bringonthewave (Wave Carver-Special Corona), Favorite Fire Boy (Favorite Cartel-Club Pro) and Toastdinero (Toast Your Dreams-Rare Jasmine) completed the order of finish.
Pot O’ Gold Futurity

After topping the qualifying ladder with a wire- to-wire 1 3/4-length victory in the trials for the Pot O’Gold Futurity in her debut out on April 22, Ladys A Cartel bounced back to better that time and post a scorching career-high 106 speed index as she won the $32,993 finals held at Sun Downs on May 6.
Owned by Jorge L. Carmona, Ladys A Cartel fin- ished her 300-yard trial in :15.572 and came back even stronger two weeks later, covering the same distance
in :15.390. Brushed at the break emerging from the 2-post did not slow the filly, who received the first call and opened a 1-length lead in the stretch. She coasted to a 1 1/4-length wire-to-wire victory as the pre-race favorite, going off at just less than 2-1 odds. Under reg- ular rider Ruben Lozano, the sorrel filly brought home the $12,845 winner’s share for trainer Danny Montes, boosting her total lifetime earnings to $13,505.
A Regal Choice Inc. bred Ladys A Cartel out of lightly raced Significant Lady, who has produced 100% money earners from six starters. Her top earner is Royaltys Lady, winner of the 2015 Oneida County Fair Futurity. Ladys A Cartel becomes the second stakes winner in the brood.
Arizona Favorite (Favorite Cartel-Check Her For Cash) was a steady 2nd under Eduardo Gutierrez-
Sosa for owner K and R Allred Ranch LLC & trainer Hector Magallanes. Also trained by Hector Magallanes, Estelline (Carters Cartel-Lady Of Reason ) & jockey Ricardo Moreno were 3rd for owner Hayden Brothers Ranch. In 4th was Guys Storm Cloud (Guys Casanova Cowboy-Lightnin Storm Cloud), moved to 5th was Willy B Gone (Jess Louisiana Blue-Time To Splash Bac) & to 6th was Feature Ms Bo (Feature Mr Bojangles- Paraphrase), DQ’d from 5th to 7th for interference
was Jesstafiably Jess (One Sweet Jess-Fly Thru Time), followed by L Bar D Top Prospect (Prospect To The Top-Be First Rose) & Loosin My Lover (Sixthirteen TB-Lover Cat). Lucky Ned was scratched.

Love To Reason BR held off Tickle Ur Fancy to emerge victorious for her first stakes victory in the $25,110 Boehringer Ingelheim Sun Downs Distaff
Challenge on May 6.
Jose Rosales trains Love To Reason BR, who
broke second from the 8-post. The sorrel mare chased down pre-race favorite Tickle Ur Fancy,
who was the fastest qualifier from the April 22 tri- als. Love To Reason BR rallied in the Sun Downs Distaff Challenge finals and got to the wire first by a neck. Ridden by Jose Figueroa, Love To Reason BR finished the 400-yard trip in :19.884, posting a 106 speed index that matched her career high mark.
With this win, Love To Reason BR earned a spot
in the $100,000 guaranteed AQHA Distaff Challenge Championship-G1 and an $11,551 payday that takes her earnings to $25,499. Love To Reason BR was the 2nd fastest qualifier to this race, finishing behind Tickle Ur Fancy in the trials only to defeat her in the finals.

was 2nd under Eduardo Gutierrez-Sosa for Hayden Brothers Ranch & trainer Hector Magallanes. Precious Dominique (Foose-Dash For Kate) & Armando Cervantes were 3rd for Adrian & Atilano Gonzalez and trainer Jose Rosales. Followed by Toughie (Stel Corona-Hard Lining), in a DH for 5th were Seperate Flame (Separatist-Aflamin) & Kissin Kate Barlow (TR Dasher-Apollos Winner), then Tic Tac Attack (Tac It Like A Man-Harney Girl), Gone Fast (Meter Me Lucky-Beautiful Ashlee), Klassic Secret BR (Fantastic Corona Jr-Stylish Secret) and MPS Mamou Jewels (Tee Cos-Jewels Princess Rio).
