ROYALTYS AUTHORITY

Royaltys Authority scored his second stakes vic- tory in the $30,000 Kaweah Bar Handicap-G3 at Los Alamitos on May 5.
With Cesar DeAlba aboard, Royaltys Authority
broke second and then dueled with odds-on favorite Zoomin For Spuds. Royaltys Authority put that rival away and held off the late challenge of Flash N Bling to win by a 1/2-length. They completed the 350 yards in :17.438, posting a 99 speed index.
Roman Figueroa trains Royaltys Authority for owner S And S Horses. As a jockey, Figueroa has won the Kawah Bar three times. Earlier in his career, Royaltys Authority captured the 2015 Desert Classic Futurity at Turf Paradise.
A Regal Choice Inc. bred Royaltys Authority out of winning Thoroughbred mare Trick And Fun. The mare has produced 100% winners from nine Quarter Horse starters, including stakes winner Zoomin For Fun and graded stakes- placed Octonaut. Trick And Fun has no reported Thoroughbred foals. Royaltys Authority is her second stakes winner and top money earner.
Flash N Bling (First Down Dash-Suzy Cartel) finished second under jockey Oscar Peinado. Mike Robbins trains the gelding for owner Reliance Ranches, LLC.
Jim Walker’s homebred Zoomin For Spuds (Zoomin For Bux-A Perfect Cocktail) finished third under Jesus Ayala for trainer Monty Arossa.
The Charm Of Corona (Corona Cartel-Charm Dance), One Proud Eagle (One Famous Eagle-Guy Chasing), Rite Regal (Favorite Cartel-A Regal Classic), Renewed (Walk Thru Fire-Make Over), Mr Apollitical Dash (Mr Jess Perry-Apollitical Dash), Captain On Takeoff (Captain Courage- Takeoff Royally) and Unclaimed Dividend (A Mere Chocolate-Chavela Magic) completed the order of finish.
La Pacifica Handicap
A POLITICAL LADY

APolitical Lady remains undefeated from three starts in 2018, while scoring her third career stakes victory in the $30,000 La Pacifica Handicap at Los Alamitos on May 12.
With Eduardo Nicasio aboard, A Political Lady broke from the 8-post on top and was never headed. She continued to improve her lead throughout and crossed the wire 1 1/4-length ahead. A Political Lady completed the 350 yards in :17.500, posting a 97 speed index.
The filly brought home the $16,500 winner’s share of the purse, boosting her total lifetime earn- ings to $237,953 from a record of 13-6(3)-4-2(1).
A Political Lady came into the La Pacifica after winning the Grade 3 La Primera Del Ano Derby on March 30. She also won the 2017 Los Alamitos Two Million Juvenile. The filly has won or placed in all but one of her outs, including finishing third in the 2017 Golden State Million Futurity-G1.
Christopher O’Dell trains A Political Lady for
the Parsons Ranch, who bred the filly out of multiple stakes-placed winner Another Wise Lady. She has produced 100% ROM/money earners from four start- ers, including Los Alamitos Juvenile Challenge win- ner Thrice Wise. A Political Lady is her top earner.
On Our Way (One Sweet Jess-Attack The Cartel) finished in second place under jockey G.J. Rangel
for owners Lazy Creek Ranch and Jerry McAlevey and trainer Jose Flores. Cesar DeAlba piloted Hard Headed Chick (Hard Hitting-Chickitita) to third place for owner John Firth and trainer Lin Melton. Yashira Vista (One Famous Eagle-Strawberry Cartel) was fourth. Chowchilla Chickadee (Foose-Buzz Chick) and La Sierran (Stel Corona-Chickafirst) finished in a dead-heat for fifth and were followed
by Madam Of Fire MV (Walk Thru Fire-Solid Connection) and Terrific Temptation (Tempting Dash-Terrific Energy).
Dillingham Handicap
CM BOOM SHAKALAKA

CM Boom Shakalaka continued to perform well for owners Randy Dickerson and Nick Lowe when he made it back-to-back stakes wins at Los
Alamitos, most recently in the $25,000 Dillingham Handicap on May 19.
The gelding came intothe contest as the only stakes winner and was sent away at more than
5-1 odds. Ridden by Rodrigo Aceves, CM Boom Shakalaka broke from the 9-post on the lead. With just 100 yards left, Yanque was making up ground next door in the eight-hole and moved quickly from sixth to second. CM Boom Shakalaka was able to hold him off, however, and cross the wire a neck in front.
CM Boom Shakalaka completed the 400 yards in :19.867. The $13,750 winner’s share took his earnings to $74,726. This win marks his 4th in stakes company. He won the Emerald Downs Juv. Chal. & Baxter Andruss Oregon Bred Futurity in 2017 and the 2018 James S. Smith Mem. Handicap. He was also a finalist in last year’s AQHA Juvenile Chal. Championship-G2 and this year’s Los Alamitos Winter Derby-G1.
Lowe trains CM Boom Shakalaka and Dickerson bred the gelding out of multiple winner/2003 Far West Futurity finalist Mi Fames A Dandy. The mare has produced 100% winners from 7 starters, includ- ing stakes winner/top earner CM Got Overserved. CM Boom Shakalaka is her second stakes winner.
Yanque (Favorite Cartel-Red Hawk Chick) was 2nd under Erasmo Gasca for Martha Wells & trainer Matthew Fales. Jesus Ayala rode Ditto Head (Foose- Lavish La Jolla) to 3rd for Fortuna Properties Inc. & trainer Mike Casselman. Followed by The Revenant (Favorite Cartel-Remember Me Rose), Effortless Effort (Favorite Cartel-Madonna Effort), King Of Appeals MV (Tres Seis-Queen Of Appeals), No Kiddin (Kiddy Up-Girls Choice), Dont Foose With Me (Foose-Queenly Walk) & Seems Even Better (Kiddy Up-Better Be Good).
