banked $530,870, and her season record includes a half-length victory in the 1-mile, $100,000 Peppers Pride Stakes (R) at Sunland Park on March 5. The filly won two stakes during her sophomore campaign and ran third in the open 1 1/16-mile, $250,000 Zia Park Oaks.
Delia finished third, 3 1/2 lengths behind Corrina Corrina, and was followed by Tight Fittin Jeans and Bye Bye Brandi.
Bella Dona earned the $15,750 runner-up share of the purse for her owners, Robert
M. Driggers, DelRae Driggers, and Ben Lee Ivey. A homebred daughter of Attila’s Storm and a full sister to multiple stakes winner Tilla Cat, the 4-year-old filly has won 12 of 15 races -- including 10 stakes -- and she has banked $768,818.
Delia is a 4-year-old daughter of the Dixie Union stallion Delhomme racing for Ronald E. Allen of Tucson, Arizona. The homebred filly has won three of 11 outs and has earned $93,410.
Making her second start of the Ruidoso Downs summer meet, Derrick W. Jenkins’ Corrina Corrina won a 6-furlong, $75,000 overnight stakes for New Mexico-bred Thoroughbreds on September 4.
Corrina Corrina defeated multiple stakes winner Bella Dona by three-quarters of a length in 1:10.53. Tracy Hebert rode the homebred dark bay or brown 4-year-old filly for trainer Gary Cross.
Corrina Corrina was stretching out in distance off of her clear 5 3/4-length victory in the 5 1/2-furlong, $50,000 Lincoln Stakes (R) for New Mexico-bred fillies and mares on July 23. The filly is one of 32 winners from 49 starters sired by Mr. Trieste, a Kentucky-bred son of the A.P. Indy stallion Old Trieste and a half-brother to Grade 2 winner Nate’s Mineshaft. Racing from 2003-12, Mr. Trieste earned $605,474 from 39 starts, and he won nine stakes, including the 2006 Sunland Park Handicap.
Mr. Trieste has sired the earners of more than $2.7 million from 13 crops, including official
black-type stakes winner Motivare. The 22-year- old stallion stands at Jenkins Farm near Hobbs, New Mexico.
Corrina Corrina is also one of three winners from as many starters produced by Scared Money, a winning daughter of the Mr. Prospector stallion Carson City. Her second dam, the unraced Deputy Minister mare Triple Bright, foaled four winners from five starters.
Corrina Corrina’s third dam, the unplaced Lord Durham mare Finally Found, produced two graded stakes winners, including Stolen Beauty,
a full sister to Triple Bright who won the 1991 Demoiselle Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct. The filly traces back to her fourth dam, Bon Debarras,
an unraced daughter of the Graustark stallion Ruritania who foaled three stakes winners, all
of whom were half siblings to Finally Found, including Eternal Search, a 15-time stakes winner in Canada from 1980-83.
Raced exclusively in New Mexico, Corrina Corrina has won eight of 20 starts and has
