Maiden Stakes
KENIAS BLACK PATRIOT

As the name suggests, this is a condi- tional classic for horses of four years
of age and older that are maidens at the time of registration, a requirement met by nine American breds whose owners paid the established registration fee, which was the main part of the purse that amounted to $337,300 pesos (approx. $16,034 U.S.). The distance was 350 yards.
Each participant and jockey did their best to get to the wire first. However, the competi- tive superiority demonstrated by Kenias Black Patriot, who made her debut at the Hipodromo de las Americas after only two outings at Delta Downs, gave her the victory.
With Rosalino Alcudia in charge, she
had no difficulty dominating the group and reaching the finish line in :17.10 for a 96 speed index. She surpassed BH One by 2 1/2-lengths at the wire to add $168,650 pesos (approx. $8,017 U.S.) to her earnings account, which is 50% of the purse assigned to the classic.
Bred in the United States by Janelle Simon, she is the daughter of Jet Black Patriot and out of Ms Janas Perry by Mr Jess Perry. The filly is
owned by Cuadra Los Gavilanes, where she is trained by Rubén Romo García, who was pres- ent at the award to represent her owners.
With this triumph she broke her maiden and scored the first stakes of her record, after her last outing on May 30, 2019 at Delta Downs where she came third
in a $10,000 claiming race.
BH One (Valiant Hero- Dashing Uno) placed second assisted by his rider Gonzalo Castillo. He is owned by S. R. Hermanos and trained by Gil Sánchez Rosete.
Currentlyleavingyou (Coronas Leaving You- Current Vision) finished third under jockey Eddi Cuéllar for owner Cuadra A.B. and trainer Gregorio Alberto Razo Parra.
