When it comes time to survey the health of the Quarter Horse racing industry, one of the areas we look at is the leading sires lists for the year. We see many of the same stallions making the leading sire list each year. Then, over time, a new group comes
on the scene giving a constant rotation of stallions coming to the list. These stallions make their contribution to the million-dollar sire club as well as represent the different sire lines that make up this list of stallions.
We know that the Three Bars and Top Deck sire lines have been constants on these sire lists. These two sire lines literally dominate the sire lists. When we look at the all-time leading sire list for money earners, we see that the first seven stallions
on this list come from the Three Bars and Top Deck sire lines. The first seven horses include: First Down Dash, Corona Cartel, Dash For Cash, Walk Thru Fire, and
PYC Paint Your Wagon representing the Three Bars sire line; and Mr Jess Perry and Apollitical Jess representing the Top Deck sire line. The #8 horse on this list is Chicks Beduino, representing the Thoroughbred sire line that comes down from Nearco through his son the great Nasrullah. Chicks Beduino is a son of Beduino, a great grandson of Nasrullah. The #9 horse on this list is Heza Fast Dash, who traces in the sire line to the Thoroughbred Noholme, a great grandson of Hyperion giving us a fourth sire line through this great horse.
The #10 horse on this list is One Famous Eagle representing the Top Deck sire line as a son of Mr Jess Perry.
Favorite Cartel is a rising star on the all-time leading sires of money earners list, and was #22 on this all-time list at the
end of 2020 with total earnings of over $23 million. He added to his rise on this prestigious list as the 2020 AQHA Leading Sire of Money Earners with his runners earning $6,942, 949 from 346 starters with 156 winners, 27 stakes winners and 15 of them Graded stakes winners. His leading money winner of 2020 is Tell Cartel, the 2020 AQHA Champion Three Year Old and Champion Three-Year-Old Colt with earnings of $717,751.
Favorite Cartel was the 2020 AQHA Leading Sire of Money Earners with over $6.9 Million, including 2-Time 2020 Champion Tell Cartel who has earnings of $717,751
