FLIGHT CLUB

The Canada Quarter Horse Cup Derby was hosted by Century Mile on a windy, rainy day and over a sloppy track. The 400-yard stakes carried a total purse worth $27,510.
Flight Club stepped away from the 6 post in eighth and jockey Ricardo Moreno let his mount find his footing. Then, Flight Club took flight.
The gray colt gained ground with every step. He held third at first call and was ahead by the top of the stretch. Flight Club stopped the clock at :20.222 to earn an 83 speed index with a length to spare.
The son of Foose earned the $12,380 winner’s share and he now
has a bankroll worth $43,239. His race record stands at four wins in seven career starts, with a victory in the 2020 Evergreen Park Juvenile Challenge. He was also a finalist in the 2020 AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2 and fourth in the Evergreen Park Derby Challenge just prior to this win. His team includes owner Charles G Stojan and trainer William H Leech. He was bred in California by Steve D Burns out of the mare Seperate Flight, dam of eight foals; Flight Club is her best product.
Royale Runaway (First Timber- Sparkling Hy) banked the second place check under Martin Ortiz for owners Dakota & Brant Laczo,
who is also the trainer. Bright Foo Fighter (Gone To The Mountain-Dj Bright Sweetheart) broke slowly
but hustled under jockey Silvino Morales for third place. The colt
is owned by Gonetothebrightside Syndicate and trained by William H Leech. Followed by Eyesa Timber (First Timber-Eyesa Perry), Ulnvme To (First Timber-Ulnvme), Timbers Express (First Timber- Daddys Express Girl), Obsessed Way (Obsessed With Corona-Dash N Way), Cerveza Corona (Favorite Cartel-Corona Mas Fina), Jess
Be First (First Timber-Ima Jess A Streaker) & Jagnestimber (First Timber-Gilded Gold).
