Los Alamitos Oaks-G3
SWEET TESS

Though owners Edward and Theresa DeNike and trainer Patricia Visscher were winning their first Los Alamitos Oaks-G3 together with Sweet Tess’ victory on March 26, it wasn’t the first time they had actually won this race. They had successfully collaborated on it twice before, when it was called the La Primera Del Ano Derby.
In 2006, they won with Kaniska and then again in 2010 with Jumpn Beduino. Kaniska, like Sweet Tess, was a homebred for the DeNikes, who live in Kent, Washington, and breed horses in that state. Both Kaniska and Sweet Tess are Washington-breds.
“It’s been a long time that we’ve been with Patty,” said Edward of trainer Visscher. “We were a client of her husband, Hans. Pat takes care of them well.”
Sweet Tess, who won two of her eight starts at two, made her 3-year-old debut in the trials for the Los Al Oaks. She got away in fourth
