Bold Ruler was a top runner for Nasrullah, and he followed in his sires’ footsteps as a leading sire. He made 33 starts with 23 wins, four seconds and two thirds earning $764,204. He won 16 stakes, including the Futurity Stakes, Preakness Stakes, Bahama Stakes, Suburban Handicap, Toboggan Handicap and Carter Handicap. This makes Double Jay a Domino/Ben Brush cross - the kind of cross we see in Top Deck who is linebred to Domino and Ben Brush. The dam of Irish Jay was Irish Witch by Bold Irishman by Sir Gallahad III. The dam of Irish Witch was Witchlike by Diavolo by Whisk Broom and the dam of Witchlike is Romanesque by Sir Gallahad II.
