He won the Tattersalls Sale Stakes and the Windsor Castle Stakes in England and the Yerba Buena Handicap in the United States. Indian Hemp was the sire of Hempen in 1962.
Hempen was a 4-time stakes winner including the San Miguel Stakes, the
Olympia Stake in which he set a new
track record, the Midwest Stakes and the Snaro Handicap. He earned $108,808. His Thoroughbred sire record shows that his
