Paul Harber P&A Memorial
LIVE MOONSHINE

Dan and Kaye Jones of Kemp, Texas, are staking a claim to the $22,000 Paul Harber Paint & Appaloosa Memorial Stakes at Remington Park after
winning the black-type race for Paints and Appaloosas for three consecutive years. Their homebred Live Moonshine captured this year’s event, winning the 350- yard fixture for the second time.
Ridden by Cody Smith, the 2020 World Champion Live Moonshine broke alertly and took command of the 10-horse field at the break in this year’s renewal
on April 8. He dueled early with Js Runnin Wire and WI Hector Lives, but was never headed. As Js Runnin Wire began retreating in the lane, Live Moonshine found himself in a battle with WI Hector Lives. Those two fought to the wire with Live Moonshine prevailing gamely by a head at the wire for trainer Ty Blackwell.
Live Moonshine covered the distance in :17.657 in winning for the 16th time in his career and 9th time
at Remington Park. The 6-year-old gelded Paint by CRM Livewire is produced from the Awesome Chrome mare PRP Sedona Sunset. All told, his record stands at 31-16-3-4, and the $11,730 winner’s share of the purse increased his earnings total to $268,581.
Runner-up WI Hector Lives APHA (Kool Wagon QH-Chivette) was ridden by Justine Klaiber for owners Jeff Carter & Justin Masssey and trainer Eddie Willis.
Bully Pulpit APHA (CRM Livewire-Judys Apollo), with jockey Fernando Fonseca-Soto aboard, rallied late to finish third for the same connections as the winner.

RF Livies Livewire APHA (CRM Livewire-RF Livies Speical), and Queen for Cash ApHC (Hes Relentless QH-Ivory Queen) completed the order of finish.

B LEAVING

BLeaving scored his first stakes victory in
the $68,000 Mr Master Bug Stakes-RG3 at Remington Park on April 16.
Ridden by Justine Klaiber, the gelding broke
on top from the 2-post and was never headed. They continued to gain ground throughout the 350 yards to cross the wire 1/2-length in front, stopping the timer in :17.416. Trained by Eddie D. Willis, B Leaving secured the $37,800 winner’s share of the purse for owner WW Partners, pushing his total cumulative earnings to $87,797.
Raced exclusively in Oklahoma, B Leaving now has a race record of two wins from eight starts, which includes a second place finish in the Oklahoma Horsemen’s Association Mystery Futurity-RG2.
Homer A. Hill Estate bred B Leaving out of stakes winner Jess B Mighty, who won the 2010 Oklahoma Bred Derby and Miss Olene Handicap and was a finalist in the Retama Park Futurity-G1 and Jack Brooks Stakes-RG3. She has produced 100% winners from six winners, including top earner Jess B One, who won the 2020 Evangeline Downs Derby. B Leaving is her only other stakes winner.
Mr Apollo Jess (Apollitical Jess-A Delightful Legacy) finished second under Juan Pulido for owner Zitro Racing Corp and trainer Santos Carrizales Jr.
Ajs Tres Of Paint (Apollitical Jess-A Tres Of Paint) ran a steady and even race to bank third place money for owner Guillermo Gomez Flores. The Troy Carter trainee was ridden by Ricky Ramirez.
Apollitical Payoff (Apollitical Jess-Seis The Royal Cash), Awesome View (Hes Relentless-Ivory Key), Im A Fancee Chik (Im A Fancy PYC-Dixie Marrone TB), El Rubio Corona (Coronado Cartel-Luckky Call Me), Chuggin Corona (Hez Our Secret-Royal Stiletto), BV Poetry In Motion (Coronado Cartel- Eyesa First) and Valerity (Volcom-Corona Couture) completed the order of finish.

FREIGHTTRAIN STEW

Freighttrain Stew has won his last four in a
row with his latest being the $73,330 AQRA Presidents Spring Derby at Turf Paradise on April 13.
The fastest qualifier from the March 24 trials broke in fourth from the 5-post, but quickly secured the lead under Luis Valenzuela. Freighttrain Stew was a head in front through the remaining the 350 yards to stop the timer in :17.576 for a 101 speed index.
Trained by Ralph Fales, Freighttrain Stew secured the $36,665 winner’s share of the purse for owner Justin B. Lewis, boosting his lifetime total earnings to $68,847.
Mike and Leslie Turner bred Freighttrain Stew out of lightly raced Strawflying Dina. She has produced eight winners from 11 starters, including stakes placed Delila Rose, Shapeshifter, Move Over Cinderella and When In Rome. Freighttrain Stew is her first stakes winner.
K W (Corona Cartel-Budder Think Twice) squeaked into the finals with the ninth fastest time. In the finals, the colt made the best of his opportunity by finishing second under Kevin Carbajal for owners Bryton Dewald & Celina Molina and trainer Antonio Ballesteros.
Send Me A Reason (Good Reason SA-Send Me This Wagon) was on a streak of five wins from six starts. He came in with the fourth fastest qualifying time and was able to bank third place money in the finals for owner Ricardo Ramirez. The Rigoberto Guillen trainee had Oscar Peinado in the saddle.
