First Lady On Canvas made a three-race consecutive win streak with her victory in the $350,730 New Mexico Classic
Futurity-RG2 at Zia Park on Oct. 30. Ridden in the Futurity by jockey Esgar
Ramirez, First Lady On Canvas shot straight to the front of the field of 10 juveniles at the start of the 350-yard dash.
Leading at every call enroute, she edged clear in the lane and maintained a healthy advantage all the way to the wire to score by 3/4-lengths.
In winning her stakes debut, First Lady On Canvas stopped the timer in :17.507 and earned a speed index of 99 in the impressive effort. The $171,858 winner’s share of the purse boosted her earnings to $187,443.
Bred and owned by MRB Racing LLC and trained by Xavier Rodriguez, First Lady On Canvas has won three consecutive races. She broke her maiden at Lone Star on Sept. 23 and then captured her trial heat on Oct. 8. The win
