Black Gold Oaks Futurity

Jes An Angel led the charge to the wire in the $381,695 Black Gold Oaks Futurity held at Will Rogers Downs on Nov. 15.
The filly came into the race with the seventh fastest qualifying time. In the finals, she broke on top from the 9-post with Bryan Candanosa aboard and went wire-to-wire. The pack was tightly bunched at the halfway mark, but Bryan supplied plenty of hustle and encouragement. They held the lead by a nose and showed grit and determination, finishing 3/4-lengths to the good.
They stopped the timer in :19.711 and earned a 99 speed index.
Jes An Angel also earned the first place check worth $152,678, which ups her lifetime earnings to $259,296.
Jes An Angel’s race record stands at six wins in ten career starts. This was her second stakes victory, also winning the $148,040 Old South Futurity at Delta Downs on May 21.
