Refrigerator Invitaitonal Championship-G1

Instygator thrives at Lone Star Park. In four starts at the Texas track, the 4-year-old gelding has won three times and finished
second once. In his most recent outing there, he captured the $144,000 Refrigerator Invitational Championship-G1 on Nov. 26.
In the 440-yard event, Instygator broke in sixth, but quickly moved up to second. By the mid-stretch he had taken the lead. The 9-10 favorite, ridden by jockey
Juan Pulido, took command
to score by 1 3/4-lengths
in :21.084, earning a speed
index of 106. He also earned
the $80,640 winner’s share
of the purse, boosting his
bankroll to $1,582,551.

CLASSY MOON

Classy Moon had hit the board in 10 of 15 lifetime starts heading into the $211,400 New Mexico Classic Derby-RG2 at Zia Park on
Oct. 30. While he had yet to capture a stakes race and was multiple stakes placed, fastest qualifier Classy Moon changed that with a game victory in the 400-yard test.
Ridden by Noe Garcia Jr., Classy Moon broke alertly from the 2-post and dueled for command early. Once he poked his head in front in the lane, he never
relinquished the lead and
battled bravely to the wire
to defeat Hunky McGoo by
a determined neck in the
end, stopping the timer in
:19.616. The final
clocking over a fast track
earned a speed index of 94.
The $105,700 winner’s share
of the purse increased his
total bankroll to $205,424.
Owned and bred by Sissie and Bob McClure, Classy Moon is now a winner in five
of 16 lifetime starts and has hit the board in
six others for trainer Fred Danley. In addition to this stakes score, Classy Moon finished second in the Zia Derby-G2 and third in the Mountain Top Derby this season. The prior year he placed second in the Southwest Juvenile Invitational Championship-G2.
Homebred in New Mexico, Classy Moon is out of the graded stakes winning mare Shez
the winner throughout and just missed under jockey Federico Martinez. The gelding is a three-time winner for owners/breeders William and Mary Robertson and trainer Jackie Riddle.
Passeanna (Big Daddy Cartel-Woodys Allstar) and jockey Jacob Enriquez rallied
late to finish third for owners Denis and Julie Schoenhofer and trainer Eric Valenzuela.
The New Mexico Classic Derby marked the stakes debut for the filly who was bred in New Mexico by MJ Farms.
Wine Do’t Lie (Big Daddy Cartel-Fine Wines), Z Ya (First Moonflash-Zoobie Cartel), JC New Dawn (Woodbridge-Fly Stolis Chick), Chicksbabycartel (Big Daddy Cartel-Hot Indy Chick), Daddys Mony (Big Daddy Cartel-Jenna James), and Cowboy Zulu (Zulu Dragon-First Cowgirl) completed the remaining order of finish. FS Power Maxx and Run Time were scratched.

Bobby Cox bred Instygator in Texas from his homebred stakes-placed mare Eye Popping. She placed in three stakes and has produced nine winners from 11 starters including three
stakes winners with earnings of $2,411,988. Some of her foals include Shott Gun, who won the 2020 Heritage Place Futurity-G1 and two other stakes, and Maybellina, a multiple stakes winner
in Mexico.
Adrian Ramos rode
Apolliticalfastprize (Apollitical Jess-Ms Fast First Prize) to second for owner Aurelio Juarez and trainer Telma Loya. Apolliticalfastprize has placed
in three other stakes, including the 2022 All American Gold Cup-G1.
Juan Manuel Baeza owns and trains third- place Hesa Party Wagon (Hes Relentless-
Lil Miss Party Doll), who was ridden by Christian Ramos. The 4-year-old gelding has won three stakes, most recently the James Isaac Hobbs Stakes-G2 on Oct. 9.
Completing the remaining order of
finish was Whirlaway Wagon (Whirlaway Red-Lil Miss Party Doll), Jess My Hocks (Kiss My Hocks-Jess Charlena), Da Devil Made Medoit (FDD Going Grand-Tres Seis Mischief ), Jess Rocket Man (Apollitical Jess-Paint Or More), Elmer (FDD Dynasty- Treasured Dreams), One Slick V (One Valiant Hero-Silk Mountain), Other World (Foose- Celestial Being TB), and Midday News (FDD Dynasty-Summer Love Song).
Classy Now. She
won seven of 37 outings and amassed earnings of $228,895 during her strong racing career for owner/breeder Charles Harper. Numbered among her wins were victories in the 2006 John Augustine Stakes-G3 and the 2006
New Mexico Horseman’s Association Handicap-G2. She has produced nine winners from 10 starters with earnings of $713,231.
