  The Ventricular System
 — Thus, each lateral ventricle consists of a frontal, temporal, and occipital horn.
— In addition to the horns, the lateral ventricle also has a segment referred to as
the body, which is located between the frontal and occipital horns.
— The point at which the body, temporal horn, and occipital horn meet is the trigone or atrium of the lateral ventricle.
— Within the atria of both lateral ventricles lies the echogenic configuration of the choroid plexus, the mass of cells responsible for cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) production in the fetus.
