            BILIARY OBSTRUCTION & JAUNDICE
▪ As a result, an obstruction within cause the patient to suffer from jaundice.
– Jaundice occurs as a consequence of bilirubin accumulation within the tissues of the body.
– Excessive bilirubin in the body leads to elevated serum bilirubin.
▪ Biliary obstruction is a common cause of jaundice, but jaundice can occur with hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver carcinoma, pancreatic carcinoma, and hemolytic disorders.
