▪ The fundus is the most dependent portion and therefore is a common place for gallstones to collect.
▪ Blood supply is via the cystic artery.
▪ The gallbladder contracts as a result of cholecystokinin, a hormone
released by the duodenum.
▪ The most common variant of the gallbladder is the Phrygian cap.
– Other positional and developmental anomalies of the gallbladder include duplication, floating gallbladder, agenesis, and hypoplasia.
