Virtual Activities to Celebrate Fasting Month of

Ramadhan and Eid el Fitr

ue to Covid-19 pandemic
in Italy, celebration of the
DMoslem festivals including
the holy fasting month of Ramad-
han as well as Eid-el Fitr were
quite different from previous years.
This year, the Embassy has organ-
ised those celebrations through a
virtual “zoom” platform, in order
to comply and to maintain to the
safety and health protocols.

During the fasting month of Ra-
madhan 2020, the Embassy has
organised several virtual activ-
ities under the program called
“Web-Rahmah” (We will be bet-
ter- Ramadhan Penuh Berkah/ A
Blessed Ramadhan) such as virtual
sermons and lectures on Islamic
(six days a week), program for chil-
dren on learning Holy Qur’an (ev-
ery Saturday), virtual program for
women (Monday, Wednesday and
Friday) and other activities.

To support these activities, the
Embassy invited several lecturers
in Indonesia and Egypt: Dr. Asy-
har Kholil, Lc, MA (Director for
Postgraduate of UNSIQ/ Qur’an
Science Islamic University of
Wonosobo- Indonesia), Dr. Ah-
mad Ichwani, Lc, MA (Alumni of
Al Azhar University Egypt), and
Hj. Nura Fajria, Lc, M.Ag (lecturer
of UNSIQ).

Furthemore, the Embassy also held
a virtual celebration of Nuzulul
Quran (Revelation of Quran Day)
through virtual platform on Fri-
day (May 15 , 2020), with sermon

were given by Dr. Ahmad Ichwani,
Lc, MA from Cairo, Egypt. Around
50 participants participated this
virtual event.

As a final activity of Web Rahmah
program, the Embassy held Eid-el
Fitr celebration (Festival of Break-
ing the Fast) through virtual plat-
form (Zoom and FB live). Limited
