His grandfather Adam was a slave on one of the plantations in the area. Jim spent most of his adult life in Hammond, Louisiana,
where all his children were born and where is was laid to rest. He died at the age of 56, until at this very moment I just realize that all the children he had with Alberta died before they could reach 60 years of age like their father.
