  Alberta Robinson
Alberta (Robinson) Booker, our grandmother was the third child of 15 born to David and Lula Robinson. Dave
Robinson our great grandfather parents name were Richmond Robinson ( born approx. in 1833) and his wife
was Caroline Lard (born approx. 1850) . Dave was born in St. Helena Parish, Louisiana on Aug 7, 1875 and died July 27, 1920 in Magnolia, Pike County, Mississippi. He was just 45 years of age when he left this world. Lula (Parker) Robinson (Jan. 1878 to Feb. 1928) our great grandmother. I was able to trace her lineage back to our fourth great grand- mother, her name is Rachel Parker (1825 to 1900) and her daughter Carolina (Parker) Marshall ( Dec. 1848 to Jan. 1916) married a man named Warren Marshall (1845 to 1918). Warren’s death certificate indicated is was born in 1818 and live to be 99 - 100 years old but the 1880 U.S. Census record have him being 35 years old in 1880. There is no way to con- firm his actually age since, he and his wife could not read or write, they were both slaves and were not allow to educate themselves. Carolina and Warren had about eleven children. I know Rachel never imagine when she came from Africa that she would give birth to a legacy that would turn into doctors, nurses, lawyers and even a state senator. Below is their family tree’s starting with Rachel Parker-Williams-Yankaway.

Our fourth great grandmother Rachel is
believed to have came from African. For Annie
a period of time she was living in Vir-
ginia. She was more than likely sold at an
auction to someone in Mississippi. Due
to bad record keeping and back during
slavery era, black people were considered John property the research limits me from con-
firming some of what I have discovered
but through DNA, I have found many
cousins that links us together and makes
the research valid.
Rachel also had two other husbands and her second husband Fredrick Yankaway which she had twin boys with their names were Seaborn and Zion. Her third hus- band was named Isaac Williams which she had no children with she married him about 1891.
