                                                     ABSTRACT

Biogas is an environmentally clean fuel that is produced by a spontaneous
biological process which is “Anaerobic Digestion”. Many cofactors are required
to enhance that process and obtain the maximum biogas production from the
same amount of waste. This research work supplies organic waste, cattle waste,
with nano-metal cofactors and active carbon nanoparticles in combinations and
determine the percentage of enhancement in biogas and methane production
compared to blank reactors after anaerobic incubation for 50 days. Three
combinations of nanoparticles were used; Zinc ferrite alone, Zinc ferrite with 10%
carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and Zinc ferrite with 10 % C76 fullerene at the same
concentration in all anaerobic reactors. Zinc ferrite containing reactors produced
4.8 L of biogas compared to 2.7 L in case of blank reactors and 4.1 L and 3.7 L in
case of CNTs and C76 containing reactors, respectively.
