ABSTRACT
Smart nanomaterials represent a very favorable class of materials that are
able to dramatically change their properties in response to specific
environmental stimuli such as pH, temperature, magnetic field, light,
electricity, certain chemicals, etc. More recently, the ability to manage the
size in the nanoscale, shape, porosity and surface morphology of materials
has created new opportunities to evade various challenges in various
applications. Besides, the concurrent fast and considerable stimuli-response
of these nano-structured smart nanomaterials may magnify the scope of
their applications, and suggest improved performance in their uses
especially in the biomedical fields. The talk will give an overview of
nanotechnology and smart nanomaterials, and will describe the
development, in-vitro and in-vivo evaluation of several new series of smart
nano and nano-in-micro systems for diagnosis and treatments of different
types of cancer and diabetes.
