Stefan Lochbrunner studied General Physics at the
Technical University of Munich and did his PhD work
at the Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics in
Garching finishing 1997. Thereafter he was postdoc
and, after a research stay 1999 at the Steacie Institute for
Molecular Sciences in Ottawa, Canada, assistant at the
chair of BioMolecular Optics at the Ludwig-
Maximilians-University of Munich where he obtained
2004 his habilitation degree. Since 2007 he is full
professor for Experimental Physics at the University of
Rostock. In his research he applies time-resolved and
particularly ultrafast spectroscopy to problems in
molecular physics. This includes exciton dynamics in
organic materials and nanostructures, charge carriers in
unconventional semiconductors, intra- and
intermolecular electron as well as excited state proton
Stefan Lochbrunner transfer, wavepacket dynamics, nonlinear vibrational
spectroscopy and the interaction of intense laser pulses
with condensed matter.
