Amin Fahmy was appointed as professor of
organic chemistry at Ain Shams University (ASU)
Egypt in 1979 and as professor emeritus since

2003 to date. He supervised 60 M.Sc.& PhD
students .In 1993-1999 he acts as chairman of
chemistry department of faculty of Science ASU.
In 1998 Amin Fahmy jointly with Professor
.J.Lagowski, started a collaboration between ASU
and the University of Texas in Austin (USA) on an
innovative approach for teaching and learning
which they called (as founders ) the Systemic
Approach to Teaching and Learning Chemistry
(SATLC).He has about 160 publications in
synthetic heterocyclic chemistry, Green
chemistry[GC], Organic Mass
Spectrometry[OMS], and Chemistry Education .
Prof. Amin Fahmy He serves as a member of different national
Abetz ,international, American, European and African
Societies, Committees and Associations. He acts
as Vice President of Egyptian Heterocyclic
professor of organic chemistry Chemical Society (EHCS).He was invited as
at Ain Shams University PL/keynote speaker and workshop organizer in
(ASU) Egypt different international, Arab, African conferences
and founder of Ibn-Sina International conferences
on pure and Applied Heterocyclic chemistry with
Farouk_fahmy@sci.asu.edu.eg Prof. F,Sauter fron technical university of Viena .
He also acts as a visiting Professor in different
European, American, African and Arab
Universities & as president of 15th ICCE-IUPAC
[Cairo, Aug.1998]. In December2011 he was
awarded the Rajive Gandhi International award
of excellence, India.
