ABSTRACT
The new trends in greener and sustainable processes development
involving the use of alternative energy inputs (mechanochemistry,
microwave irradiation or ultrasound) and greener reaction media. Progress
in green sustainable chemistry [GSC] has led to the development of cleaner
processes as alternatives to traditional chemical syntheses and
transformations with new metrics, such as step efficiency, yield and atom-
economy. The mechanochemical grinding approach could be used to
develop a solvent-free process via one - pot multistep synthesis or
multicomponent synthesis [MCS]. By making use of this strategy we are able
to synthesize heterocyclic compounds like [Azlactones, Pyrazoles, Oxazoles,
,Imidazoles,Pyrones, Thiazoles, Thiadiazoles ,Pyrimidines,Thiazines,
Triazinthiones, Benzo[B]-1,4-Diazepines, and Quinoxalines, and 5,5-
diarylhydantoin (Dilantin),…….The key advantages of this strategy, over
the conventional approach, includes its simple, solvent-free conditions, as
well as its facile work-up, high atom economy [AE] ,high yield economy
[YE], besides time and energy- efficient.
