MBS Thank You
In the last issue the Minnesota BBQ Society said goodbye to three board members who served us well, thank you again for all you did for the MBS. In this issue we proudly present our newest elected board members! Very soon our President, Jeremy Dock- endorf will be announcing officer positions for 2021, be sure to check out our website for those updates!
Craig Grefe
Hi, my name is Craig Grefe. Along with my wife, Susan, and our daughter, Gina, we have been cook- ing in the backyard divi- sion as Good Grefe! BBQ for the past two years and have our sights set on joining the pro ranks in the near future. I enjoy being part of the barbecue community so much I’ve also gotten both my KCBS and SCA judging certifica- tions.
I’ve spent the past 20
years working for a large national electronics retailer with 17 of those years being part of the finance Post Audit team. I also vol- unteer a portion of my time working as the Treasurer for the Osseo High School Dance Team. Go Orioles!
In 2020 I became more involved with the Minnesota Barbeque So- ciety Banquet committee in planning our upcoming event on March 27th, 2021. It’s been a pleasure working with this team.
It’s an honor for me to serve on the Minnesota Barbeque Society board of directors. My goal is to help build up the presence and membership of the MBS across all of Minnesota while working with the board to foster a thriving environment for all members. Thanks for having me, and I look forward to meeting you. Cheers!
Steve Lauer
Hello, I'm Steve Lauer and I am happy to be voted onto the MN BBQ Society Board this year.
I am from Stillwater, MN. I have been involved with BBQ competi- tively for the past 8 years with my wife, Jen, and our children. We
have competed as Phoenix BBQ and judged throughout the Mid- west in excess of 60 events and counting. I’ve spent lots of time in judge tents and behind a smoker. I have met countless teams and volunteers, and my BBQ family continues to grow. These experi- ences have given me great exposure to the world of BBQ. In addi- tion, I have worked at Home Depot for the past 24 years in various roles from kitchen designer to operations manager. If you need a
fix on the road, I can likely help you out.
I’m looking forward to helping the Society further its mission, de- velop events, and it’s operations. Thank you for voting for me. See you all at events in 2021. Feel free to stop by the Phoenix camp any time and say Hi!

Hello all, I’m excited to be a part of the MN BBQ So- ciety Board. I really en- joyed my time as an Interim Board member in 2020 and am excited to be back in action!
I've been involved with the MN BBQ Society since 2016. Initially, I became a certified KCBS judge and enjoyed judging at compe- titions and meeting other BBQ folks. In 2018, I helped a cook team for a
contest and became a member of the Machete Boys BBQ team. My
