Congratulations to Magnum P.I.G. for winning the Grand Champion, Team No Bone BBQ for win- ning the Reserve Grand Champion, 3rd overall – RibLife, 4th – Let’s Get Tanck’d BBQ, 5th – The Meatyo-Q’rs, 6th – Dad Bod Barbeque, 7th – Smok’n M, 8th – Carnivorous Jim BBQ, 9th – Big Ten Bones, and 10th – Porket About It. Owens BBQ won the “Anything Bacon” ancillary competi- tion.
Saturday night, the teams enjoyed hanging out around their fire pits for some warmth, relaxation, and enjoying each other’s company. The day’s successes were celebrated. Plans for next day turn arounds were plotted. Tales of the season were swapped. More than a couple birthdays were celebrated. Participants were seen zipping around on golf carts from site to site to say
“hi!”. It was a perfect fall night
for smores by the fire and enjoy-
ing the moment.
On Sunday morning, Day 2 of the KCBS Master Series, 33 teams competed for $9000. Congratulations to Rooters-n- Tooters BBQ for winning Grand Champion, Boomerang BBQ for winning Reserve Grand Cham- pion, 3rd overall – Lucky 19 Sauce Company, 4th – Hot Daddy’s BBQ, 5th – Phoenix
BBQ, 6th – Iowa’s Smokey D’s BBQ, 7th – Mayhem BBQ, 8th – Rum N’ Smoke BBQ, 9th – Love 2 Q, 10th – Shiggin & Grinnin, and 11th - Wags Backwoods BBQ.
Thank you to all the barbeque teams and steak cooks for coming and participating in the Bring’n Home the Bacon. Thank you to the judges, volunteers (especially the West Salem Lions Club), KCBS reps: Bunny & Rich Tuttle, and SCA reps: Jim & Leona Sallee for taking part and helping in this big event. This competition and fundraiser were a suc- cessful event thanks to ALL of you!
