SMOKIN THRU
THE COVID-19
DISASTER
will pull us out of this. The hatred has to stop. LIVE SIMPLY LOVE GENEROUSLY CARE DEEPLY SPEAK KINDLY AND LEAVE THE REST TO GOD!
Most of us positive thinking BBQ folks are anticipating, with pa- tience, the day we can go compete again. This separation has caused me to have lonesome times miss- ing the family we have accumu- lated for over many years. I have been watching many in our family trying to keep cooking and feeding people — my prayers go out to everyone for good health and the ability to stay ahead of the bill col- lectors. We have been blessed with the ability to still feed a lot of peo- ple. We have been feeding some nurses along the way with com- munity support and being able to
feed a bunch of people every week helps us get thru this.
I have heard that higher temperatures will help fight this virus off so maybe firing up all these grills has helped run the temperatures here in South Florida into the nineties! Hopefully, families have been using this time at home to fire up the grills and spend some quality time cooking great food. My three grandsons have been home for weeks now and their mom is doing a great job homeschooling and keeping her sanity. My 7-year-old grandson Kael called me to do an interview for a school project. I swear he sounded like a real old fashioned news reporter asking questions about what I do for a living. He was not talking to his Papa in his normal tone. He was deep into doing this interview and he said he would let me read his report when he is done. He is truly an interesting and fantastic kid.

I want to believe this will soon pass. There are more conspiracy theories, political scandals, and screwed up news reports and fol- lowing social media is nuts. We all need to be careful, guard people with immune systems that may be vulnerable to this virus, and use some common sense. And, most of all, get to praying because God is still answering prayers. My hopes are we get thru this with a lot less sickness and death than first pre- dicted. No one should ignore the fact that people are dying because of COVID19.
I hope people will unite in prayer
and support our president and
others involved in making deci-
sions to do the right thing for our
country. There is a long road
ahead of us and only good old-
fashioned American inguenity, faith and working together
