Flu season can last from October to March with the peak season in February. Reminding your employees of symptoms, transmission,
and preven on can help them avoid contrac ng the u.
Symptoms of the u
People who have the u o en feel some or all of these signs and symptoms:
• Fever or feeling feverish/chills
• Cough
• Sore throat
• Runny or stu y nose
• Muscle or body aches
• Headaches
• Fa gue (very red)
*It’s important to note that not everyone with the u will have a fever.
Person to Person
People with the u can spread it to others from up to about 6 feet away. Most experts think that u viruses are spread mainly by droplets made when people with the u cough, sneeze or talk. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Less o en, a person might also get u by touching a surface or object that has the u virus on it and then touching their own mouth or nose.
