The Marlborough Sounds region is renowned for its pristine coastline and it has a mass of bays, inlets and hidden coves with numerous small settlements, secluded hotels and abundant wildlife.
Leaving Wellington port, we could see the colossal cruise ship 'Carnival Legend' moored for a brief stopover for the passengers. Tankers like King Jing Hai were being escorted by a tug to the port.
