 We spent the afternoon exploring the Blenheim & Marlborough vineyards. Nearby we noticed the small town of Renwick and, as Alastair's third name is Renwick, we had to investigate further. It appeared that Renwicktown existed before Blenheim and quickly became the commercial hub of the area. At its height in the 1870s, it boasted four general stores, two blacksmiths and four inns or hotels. Renwick Museum showed a recreation of Dr Thomas Renwick's surgery. Like many towns, the area is now a successful wine growing business.
