The day before we left, we traveled to Milford Sound by coach with a fascinating commentary by our affable tour guide, Brian. The journey took 4 hours each way and, although long, boarding the 'Milford Mariner' for a scenic cruise along Milford Sound itself was the highlight of our trip. Warm clothes were needed as the weather can be changeable there but luckily we enjoyed a rare clear day with sunshine.
