BEER NAME BREWERY ABV Colour/Type Score

Passchendaele Mr Grundy’s Brewery (Derby) 3.9% Straw /5

An all English, straw coloured, pale sharp bitter with citrusy overtones.
Officially known as the Third Battle of Ypres, the battle for the village of Passchendaele
during WWI became infamous not only for the scale of casualties, but also for the mud.

Poppies Ale Daleside Brewery (Harrogate) 4.0% Golden /5

A light refreshing golden beer with a burst of floral and citrus fruit aromas - giving way to a
zesty flavour . Full bodied with a subtle dry finish. Don’t forget your poppy this Armistice
Day! They can be found at the bar for a £1 minimum donation

Respect Bishop Nick (Braintree, Essex) 4.0% L.Gold /5
Phoenix and Bramling Cross hops and decorated them with toffee molasses and spicy
blackcurrant honours. A rich and reverent poppy red ale that demonstrates our gratitude and
our enduring admiration; a Crystal Rye salute!

Sniper** Mr Grundy’s Brewery (Derby) 4.5% Amber /5
Amber colour smooth, refreshing bitter with a hint of toffee and a satisfying malty aroma
Snipers had been deployed in previous wars, but this conflict saw their rifles equipped with
telescopic sights, making them some of the most feared fighters on the battlefield.

Unforgotten Bosuns Brewery (Wakefield) 4.3% Blonde /5
A smooth golden ale, brewed In support of the British Legion.
WW1 losses were felt in almost every town and village in the UK and throughout what was
then the British Empire. Each and every one will remain unforgotten for their acts of bravery
     and sacrifice.

Despite what history may have documented, it appears that beer sales did not fall
during World War One and brewing continued with vigour. It seems nothing
comforts more than a pint of good English beer!
