P. 4
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Geese are migratory birds, but migratory birds have the characteristic of returning. The
narrator tries to make man look like a goose and tells the reader to strive for life and
find your way like a goose.
(Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air)
In this line, the narrator creates a view of the sky with the flight of wild geese, which is
the opposite of despair.
