Police Presence
Question Shopper 1
1 Section/Location: Pride Plaza pregame activities Time: 10:30AM
There was a heavy presence of Michigan State Police and Detroit Police in Pride Plaza prior to the game starting. I felt very safe being in the plaza and inside the
stadium.
2 Section/Location: Pride Plaza pregame activities Staff Name: Officer Bloom Time: 10:39AM
Officer Bloom of the Michigan State Police was very friendly, walking through the plaza and talking with fans. It was nice to see him engaging with fans.
3 Section/Location: Corner of Madison and Brush Time: 10:46AM
There was a scalper on the corner of Madison and Brush with 2 tickets for sale: section 326, row 21, seats 5 and 6. Selling for $100 each. There were no police
nearby.
4 Section/Location: Adams to Witherell Street Time: 4:30PM
Exiting out of the stadium from Gate A taking Adams to Witherell, there were several officers monitoring the fans leaving the stadium.
5 Section/Location: Stadium to Campus Martius Garage Time: 4:35PM
As we went from the stadium to the Campus Martius Garage there were several officers present. The atmosphere still felt safe as it did in the morning.
Shopper 2
1 Section/Location: Lot 4 Time: 10:25AM
Mr. & Mrs. Shopper saw a group of about 16 or so State Troopers in lot 4 when they pulled in to park. It appeared they were getting their instructions for the day
and shortly afterwards they broke up and walked towards Pride Plaza. Having that many troopers in one place was an impressive sight and added to a sense of
security.
2 Section/Location: Outside Gate A - on Brush Time: 11:10AM
Ms. Shopper witnessed some protesters with a huge sign walking in front of Gate A and then into the Pride Plaza game section. They were using a microphone
shouting their information. Ms. Shopper felt it was a bit intrusive especially using a microphone.
3 Section/Location: Pride Plaza, Gate D Time: pregame
Troopers, both single and in pairs, were visible all along Pride Plaza before the gates opened. Mr. & Mrs. Shopper also saw two State troopers at Gate D when
they entered the stadium. This along with the Detroit Police and SAFE & Secure team members contributed to a definite sense of security both inside and
outside of Ford Field.
