Dear Members and Friends of the Show Industry
I start this report with the sad news of the passing of Mr. Max Laurie OAM.
I had a great friend in Max (as did so many) and I had the utmost respect for his abilities in business, mechanics and engineering.
He was also a great Showman. He could build, repair and improvise on so many levels.
To Irene, Denver and Jeannie, our sincere condolences on the loss of their husband and father. He will be so missed by all who knew him.
We are also sad to report on the passing of Robert Crowley of W.A. Guild. Another Showman and good friend of mine.
I have had some mixed reports on how Sydney Show went for our members this year.
It seems that whenever we have Federal elections, the economy seems to slow. So, by the time we head North for the winter run, things would have settled down and we can have a good report in the next issue of T.O.S.
I would like to thank the sub-committee that have worked so diligently on a few problems that we encountered in the last couple of years. These “problems” have been ironed out and we should enjoy a great run of shows throughout the winter.
